Hercule Poirot was a retired policeman and
worked as private detective afterward. He received a letter which was simply
signed “ABC”.
In the letter, the writer challenged Poirot
to solve mysteries. Several days later, a woman was killed in a city called Andover. And her name is
Mrs Ascher. By the way, an ABC, the name of the railway guide, was left beside
the victim.
Poirot received other letters and similar
murder cases followed. A lady called Elizabeth Barnard was killed in Bexhill. Then
Mr Clarke was murdered in Churston. Why someone would kill others according to their
name and living place? Was the murderer just a mad man?
Agatha Christie was the most famous female
writer of detective stories. “The ABC Murders”(F CHR) is quite interesting. You
can’t miss it is you love detective story. It will be available in the library
soon.
