珍珠

The baby of Kino and Juana was bit by a scorpion. The doctor in town refused to help since they had not got enough money. Kino found a great pearl and he dreamed that their life would change afterward.

It actually did. But it became a nightmare...
 
“The Pearl” was written by John Steinbeck, the winner of 1962 Nobel Prize in Literature. The first several chapters were quite interesting. Especially those dreams of different people about the Great Pearl. However, the escape of Kino and Juana is a bit dull.
 
“The Pearl” describes living in poverty. It will be available in school library soon.
