這是最好的時代，也是最壞的時代！

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." This famous quotation comes from a tale of two cities.

This book, which was written by Charles Dickens, is a historical novel. What are the "two cities" of the book title? They are London and Paris.

Dr. Manette was kept in the prison in Paris for 18 years. He was freed and he met Lucie, the daughter he had never seen. Lucie took her father back to London. However, the French Revolution broke out, they were pulled back to Paris. It was because Lucie's husband, who was once a noble in France, was arrested and was going to be murdered under the new law...

《雙城記》是英國文豪狄更斯的著名歷史故事，顧名思義，這是有關倫敦和巴黎兩座城市的故事。Dr. Manette 被囚禁在巴黎的監獄18年，他被釋放後得以與從未相見的愛女Lucie聚首。Lucie帶父親回到倫敦居住。但隨著法國大革命爆發，他們兩父女被迫回到巴黎，因為Lucie的丈夫曾經是法國的貴族，現時不單被捕，還快要被處決……

早前校長曾於CBTV介紹《雙城記》的故事，這本書不過七十多頁，當中文字淺白而且優美，由於是縮寫本，故事更為緊湊，想知道Lucie一家能否避過斷頭台(看看書的封面)的威脅，就不要錯過這本名著。
